Pete Ames - Secretary

Pete Ames was born in 1952 and graduated from Lewiston Porter Central school in 1970.  Since 1972, he has worked in the automotive repair and parts sales industry in various capacities.  For the past 15 years, he has worked at Bicknell Racing Products.

Trudy Christman - Director

A native of Niagara Falls and Lewiston, Trudy graduated from Lewiston-Porter Central School and NCCC with a degree in Tourism Management and Event Planning.  While living in New Orleans, LA and West Palm Beach, FL., her career expanded to Licensed Interior Designer and fashion consultant.  “It seems, I have an affinity for tourist destinations with great historic significance and vibrant communities.”

Returning to Niagara Falls in the late 1990’s, she held positions with the Niagara County Builders Association, Home Show event assistant; HANCI, Program Assistant; Realty USA, sales agent; Pine Avenue Business Association, Membership Director; NYS Senator Marc A. Coppola, Niagara Falls Assistant; The Niagara Arts and Cultural Center, Director of Development.

Well-known for her volunteer contributions, she served as:  president, vice president, treasurer of AARP Chapter #283 and Black Creek Block Club; a participating member of the Niagara County Block Club Council, the Niagara Beautification Commission, LaSalle Business and Professional Association; and a representative to NIMAC.

Trudy first served on the Friends of Oakwood Committee in 2012.  Since then, she has served two terms on the historic Oakwood Cemetery board of directors with responsibilities regarding public relations, event planning, and fundraising.

Three years ago, partnering with Marge Gillies and Pete Ames, Trudy helped create the Grand Gardens of the Niagara Portage: “I love the architecture of the past and the gardens that have been preserved from an earlier era. When Oakwood was named to the National Register of Historic Places, I was thrilled. The Oakwood Cemetery motto is so timely:  Niagara’s History is at Oakwood.”



Rebecca Dyster - Director


Dorothy Marsh Rolling - Director

A resident of the Town of Niagara, daughter of the late William Marsh and Mary Vince.  She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and Buffalo Mercy School of Nursing.  She worked at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital from 1960 - 1985 as a registered nurse.  In 1986 she was hired as the Niagara County Historian and worked until 1999.  She has been the Town on Niagara Historian for the past several years.  Her husband Jerauld Roderick is a resident at Oakwood, a descendant of the Roderick Porter and Frederick Dean families.  Her four children and eight grandchildren live the in the Niagara Falls area.
