Audrey Young-Zygand - Director


Audrey M. (Young) Zygand was born August 2,1962. She is the oldest child of Michael L. and Audrey M. Young and has two siblings. She is married to Keith C. Zygand  they have one son.

Audrey attended LaSalle Senior High School , Sunstate Academy of Hair Design in Fort Myers, Florida and along with her husband and son owned and operated a Barbershop in Fort Myers from 1999-2008. Returning home to Niagara Falls, attended NCCC 2011 for Medical Billing degree.

Audrey is a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, was in the church choir as a youth and is past church secretary and vestry member.   In 1980 was Installed as Beloved Queen of Niagara River Triangle #120 at the Masonic  Lodge on South Avenue.

Audrey has 4 Generations of the Transportation Business starting in the late 1800’s , her Great, Great, Great Grandfather started William Young Transportation in Niagara Falls. Her family members which include William and his wife Emma and a few other family members are in the Mausoleum and buried throughout Oakwood , Her husband’s family are also in Oakwood.

She resides in the Niagara Falls area. 


Tom Yots - President Emeritus

 For 31 years Tom Yots was a Chemistry Teacher at Lewiston Porter High School.  Upon retirement he completed a Master’s Degree in Architecture at the SUNY Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning and established Preservation Studios, a full service historic preservation consulting firm in Buffalo. He and his wife Louise lived in Niagara Falls for 40 years where they owned and operated Park Place Bed and Breakfast.  They currently reside in Buffalo.  Tom became involved with Oakwood Cemetery when he was the City Historian in Niagara Falls and chair of the City’s Historic Preservation Commission.  He is currently involved in preparing local, State and National Register nominations for historic Oakwood.  Tom and Louise have two sons, Jason who lives in Buffalo and Ben who lives in New York City and five grandchildren.



Connie Rodhy - Past Director

1939 - 2013Connie Rodhy was born in 1939 at St. Mary's Hospital on Sixth Street in Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara Falls High School Class of 1957.  She worked as a clerk part time her last two years of high school at Duncan Motors Ford Dealership on Main Street and then in 1962 went to work for the State of New York, Department of Labor for thirty years plus.  Her beloved spouse Ken died in 1993 and in 1997 she went to work at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church for 11 years.  Her connection to Oakwood Cemetery is having her mother's family buried there and the beautiful stories about so many who are laid to rest at Oakwood.  She has been a Trustee on Oakwood's Board for a couple of years and loves doing what she does for the cemetery such as the Memorial Day Service and fund raising.  She is very interested in genealogy and has enjoyed finding out so much about her family with the help of her friend Pete Ames.  

Connie passed away December 17, 2012 with her loving family near by.  She will be missed by the community and her friends at Oakwood.  She had a way of making everyone around her feel special.


Michael Williamson, Sr. - Past Director

Michael A. Williamson, Sr. was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 16, 1958.  He is the son of Theodore, Sr., and Trudy Williamson.  He has 2 brothers, Douglas, and Theodore, and 3 sisters Tanya, Jean, and Michelle.  He is married to the former Yolanda Martin and is the father of Michael, Jr., Rachael and Chyron.

Michael attended Niagara Wheatfield High School, Syracuse University, and is a graduate of Simmons School of Mortuary Science.

Michael is past Chairman of the Board of United Way of Niagara, and currently serves on the Family and Children’s Board of Niagara.  He has an appointment from the Governor serving on the USA Niagara Board of Directors.

Mr. Williamson is a lifelong member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Niagara Falls, NY and serves as a Deacon and Trustee.

He is the owner and operator of the Williamson Funeral Home in Niagara Falls, NY which has been in business for the past 50 years.

He is very active with the Family YMCA and Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club of Niagara.  He enjoys serving in his community wherever needed and loves living in the beauty of the Western New York area.
